π§Ύ How to Create a Verified BTC Reserve
ReserveBTC allows any Bitcoin holder to prove their on-chain BTC reserves β without giving up custody β by following a simple verification process.
πͺͺ Step 1 β Submit Verification Formβ
To begin, the user fills out the verification form on reservebtc.io:
- Enter a BTC address you control (Taproot, SegWit, or Legacy supported).
- Enter an ETH address to receive the rBTC-SYNTH token.
- Optionally, enter your website or social media if you wish to publish your proof.
Once submitted, the system generates a unique BTC address and a checksum amount (e.g., 0.001729 BTC).
π± Step 2 β Send the Exact Amountβ
- The user must send exactly the assigned checksum amount to the generated BTC address.
- This proves ownership of the original wallet and creates a deterministic, fraud-resistant fingerprint.
- Transactions are monitored in real-time.
Important: This is not a payment or transfer β the BTC never leaves your full control.
π Step 3 β Automatic Detectionβ
Once the transaction is confirmed on-chain:
- The backend system validates that:
- The correct amount has arrived
- To the assigned verification address
- The BTC address is marked as verified
- The smart contract mints
rBTC-SYNTH
to the userβs ETH address
𧬠Step 4 β Reserve Visibilityβ
Upon successful verification:
-
Your BTC reserve becomes publicly visible at your own permanent URL:
https://reservebtc.io/custom/your-project
-
Your reserve page includes:
- Your BTC balance
- Proof status
- A customizable widget
- Optional social or website link
This page acts as a public badge of trust.
