β Frequently Asked Questions
These are the most common questions about Bitcoin verification and rBTC-SYNTH tokens. Everything you need to know to use the system with confidence.
π‘ General BTC Verificationβ
β Why does my verified balance show 0 BTC?β
β‘οΈ This happens if your wallet sends the "change" of a BTC transaction to a different internal address. Simply send a new transaction to your verified address to restore your balance.
β Can I use Taproot, SegWit, and Nested SegWit?β
β‘οΈ Yes β all modern Bitcoin address types are supported and compatible with our verification process.
β Can I use a hardware wallet?β
β‘οΈ Yes, hardware wallets like Ledger and Trezor are fully supported. You simply use the BTC address from your hardware wallet during verification.
β What happens if I lose my wallet?β
β‘οΈ If you lose access to your wallet or seed phrase, your reserves are lost. We cannot recover them. Make sure to back up your seed phrase securely.
β Can I verify more than one wallet?β
β‘οΈ Yes, you can verify as many wallets as you like. Each one will be displayed separately in your dashboard.
β Can I extend my reserve?β
β‘οΈ Yes, just visit the Renew Page and follow the renewal steps to extend your verification by one year.
β How long does verification take?β
β‘οΈ Usually 3β10 minutes, depending on the Bitcoin network speed. We wait for confirmation of your checksum transaction.
π§ rBTC-SYNTH Smart Contractβ
β What can I do with my rBTC-SYNTH token?β
β‘οΈ You can access DeFi farming pools, vote in governance proposals, and prove BTC reserve ownership in on-chain protocols and DAOs.
β Will I lose rBTC-SYNTH if I move BTC?β
β‘οΈ Yes. If BTC is withdrawn from your verified address, the corresponding rBTC-SYNTH is automatically burned by the smart contract.
β How do DeFi platforms check if I hold rBTC-SYNTH?β
β‘οΈ They can call:
balanceOf(address)
to get your verified reserve amount from the rBTC-SYNTH contract.
β Can I receive more rBTC-SYNTH later?β
β‘οΈ Yes. If your BTC balance increases, the backend will detect the delta and mint more rBTC-SYNTH to your ETH address.
β Can I verify multiple BTC addresses?β
β‘οΈ Yes, and each verified address will result in its own rBTC-SYNTH balance, all sent to your Ethereum wallet.
β What if I use a new Ethereum address?β
β‘οΈ Then the rBTC-SYNTH token will be minted to the new ETH address you specify during verification.
β Is the smart contract audited?β
β‘οΈ Yes. The contract is immutable, open-source, and undergoing third-party audits for correctness and safety.
β Can someone else mint tokens for me?β
β‘οΈ No. Only the official Oracle can trigger minting. Manual or direct calls to mint will be rejected by the smart contract.
