π¦ Fund Your Wallet
π 1. Why Your Balance May Show 0β
If your verified wallet shows 0 BTC, donβt panic. This happens when:
- The initial verification was done by sending a checksum transaction.
- The change (remainder) from that transaction was returned to another address you control, not the verified one.
π This is normal behavior for HD wallets.
To update your reserve balance:
Simply send any amount of BTC to your verified address again.
This will:
- Trigger the balance re-check
- Update the system to display your current reserve
πΈ 2. Purchase Bitcoinβ
You can purchase BTC from reputable exchanges:
Exchange | Region |
---|---|
Coinbase | USA / Global |
Binance | Global |
Kraken | USA / Europe |
Bitkub | Thailand |
Bitstamp | EU |
LocalBitcoins | P2P / Global |
Always choose platforms with good reputation and 2FA.
π 3. Withdraw to Personal Walletβ
After buying BTC, withdraw it to your own wallet:
- β Ledger, Trezor (hardware wallets)
- β BlueWallet, Sparrow, Electrum (software wallets)
- β Mobile wallets: Trust, Exodus, Muun
Do not leave BTC on exchanges. You must own the keys to prove reserve ownership.
β 4. Confirm Receipt of Fundsβ
Once withdrawn:
- Check your wallet app
- Use a public Bitcoin block explorer (e.g., blockstream.info)
- Enter your verified BTC address to confirm funds arrived
This ensures:
- Your balance is visible
- ReserveBTC can detect it
π 5. Keep Your Wallet Secureβ
Always:
- Backup your seed phrase (write it down securely)
- Never share your private key or phrase
- Use a wallet you fully control
ReserveBTC requires non-custodial wallets. You must own your keys to verify BTC reserves.
π¦ Once funded, your wallet will show your reserve on dashboard and your public verification will be active.
